Online store

Your online store lets shoppers browse your products on their phone, see prices and what's in stock, and get in touch to buy. Turn on a way to pay in Settings → Payments (pay at pickup, or UPI in India) and shoppers can also add products to a cart and order them for pickup: see Online orders and payments. Until then they visit, call or email you.

What shoppers see

  • Home: your business name, what you do (from your business profile), products in stock now, your categories and your story. Or your own home page, once you publish one: see Store pages. An About page (/about) and landing pages (/p/new-season-bats) work the same way.
  • Categories: each category's products, sorted by Featured, Price: low to high or Price: high to low.
  • Search: by product name, tag or SKU (the SKU itself isn't shown).
  • Product page: photos, price (a compare-at price shows struck through), options such as size with each option's stock, the description, tags and weight, and a Visit or call to buy panel with your address and a map link, phone, email (with the product name filled in), today's hours and whether you're open now ("Open now, until 5pm" or "Closed now, opens at 9am"), worked out in your business's time zone, not the shopper's. With a way to pay turned on, the page also has a quantity and Add to cart, and the header a cart link.
  • Footer: address, phone, email, the week's opening hours with today in bold and whether you're open now, and "Powered by SupplySynk" unless you've turned that off in Domains & Branding. Hours that close after midnight (6pm to 2am) count as open until 2am. Set hours in Settings → Business profile.
  • Your logo, brand colours and favicon from Domains & Branding.

Only active products are listed. Drafts and archived products never are. A product with options (sizes, colours) shows once, with its options on its page.

Stock shows as a label, never a number you didn't choose to show:

LabelWhen
In stockMore than the product's low-stock level is available
Only 3 leftAvailable stock is at or below its low-stock level (5 when none is set)
Out of stockNothing available. Still listed, after the products in stock
AvailableThe product doesn't track stock

Available stock is on hand minus stock held for open orders, across your active locations. Pages refresh about once a minute, so a sale shows within a minute.

Photos made with AI carry a small AI-generated image label. Your main photo is the one you chose as main on the product. Photos are sized for the spot they're in (small squares on product cards, larger on the product page), so the store loads quickly on phones.

Recommendations

Your store suggests products on its own:

  • Popular now (home page): your pinned products, then your best sellers of the last 30 days.
  • New arrivals (home page): products added in the last 30 days, newest first.
  • You may also like (each product page, up to 4): your pinned products, then products often bought in the same order, then the same category, then your best sellers.

Only products that are in stock (or don't track stock) are recommended, never drafts, archived products or the product the shopper is looking at. A block with nothing to show is hidden. The sales figures behind them are never shown.

Pin or exclude (managers, admins and owners): in Settings → Online store → Recommendations, find a product and choose Pin (always shown first, up to 12) or Exclude (never recommended; it's still listed and searchable). You can also set it on a product: open it in Products and use Store recommendations. A product with options is pinned as a whole. Changes show on the store straight away.

Stores in India

For a business in India the store also shows what the law asks of an online seller:

  • Prices as MRP and our price. When a product has an MRP, the page shows "Our price ₹540" with "MRP ₹600" struck through, or just "MRP ₹600" when you sell at the MRP, and "Inclusive of all taxes". A compare-at price isn't shown as well. Your selling price can never be above the MRP: SupplySynk refuses it when you save, and an older product whose price is above its MRP shows "Not available online" with the MRP only, until you fix the price.
  • Product information: net quantity, country of origin, and the manufacturer, packer or importer with their address, plus best-before and other details when you've added them (Products → Edit → Legal details (India)).
  • Seller details in the footer: your legal name and GSTIN (from Settings → Tax; the GSTIN shows when you're registered for GST), your grievance officer with their email or phone, and a Returns and refunds link to your policy at /returns.

Owners and admins set the grievance officer and the returns policy in Settings → Online store → Seller details (India). The checklist there reminds you until both are set.

Ask about this item on WhatsApp

When the WhatsApp button is on in Marketing → Settings, or you've set a WhatsApp number there, every product page has Ask about this item on WhatsApp. It opens a chat with your number with the product's name and link already typed. This works in any country.

Your products on your own website

If you have your own website, it can show the same products and take the same pickup orders through the Storefront API, with a key you create in Developers → Storefront keys. See the Storefront API guide.

What's never shown

Cost prices, suppliers, reorder points and amounts, SKUs and barcodes, custom fields, internal notes, exact stock counts, and the private parts of your business profile (who your customers are, brand voice, busy seasons).

Publish your store (owners and admins)

  1. Go to Settings → Online store.
  2. Check the list under Before you publish: products with photos, store hours, and contact details (address plus phone or email). Each item links to where you fix it.
  3. Press Open preview to see the store as shoppers will. Until you publish, only signed-in members of your business can see it, with a Preview, not published bar at the top. Everyone else gets "page not found".
  4. Turn on Publish my store. Turn it off any time to hide the store again.

Publishing and unpublishing are recorded in the activity log.

Your store's address

Your store opens at your business address, for example https://papas-willow.supplysynk.com, with pages like /item/kookaburra-bat, /category/bats and /search?q=pads. If you've connected your own domain in Domains & Branding (for example shop.papaswillow.com), it opens the same store once it's verified. Settings → Online store lists every address.

  • Your team still works at app.supplysynk.com. Opening a back-office page on your business address (such as /products or /login) takes you there, with your business open.
  • Older links like www.supplysynk.com/s/papas-willow move to your business address on their own.
  • Open preview in Settings shows an unpublished store on app.supplysynk.com, where you're signed in. Signed-in members also see the preview on the business address. A custom domain only ever shows the published store, because your sign-in doesn't reach other domains.
  • Search engines find your store from /sitemap.xml and /robots.txt at your business address (and custom domain) once it's published.
  • If you change your business address in Domains & Branding, the store moves with it and the old address stops working.

Use your own domain (owners and admins)

Your store can open at a domain you own: a root domain like acme.com, or a subdomain like shop.acme.com. Your team keeps signing in at app.supplysynk.com.

  1. Go to Settings → Domains & Branding → Custom domains, type the domain and press Add domain. For acme.com (or www.acme.com) leave Also send www.acme.com to acme.com ticked so shoppers land on your store whichever one they type.

  2. At the company where you bought the domain (your DNS provider), create the records listed under it. Use the Host and Value shown; the copy buttons help on a phone.

    Your domainRecordHostValue (example)
anyTXT_supplysynk (or _supplysynk.shop)the code shown, proves the domain is yours
    acme.comA@76.76.21.21
    acme.comCNAME (optional)wwwcname.vercel-dns.com
    shop.acme.comCNAMEshopcname.vercel-dns.com

A root domain uses an A record because most providers don't allow a CNAME there. Domains like acme.co.uk, acme.co.in and acme.com.au count as root domains. The values in the app can differ from these examples; always copy them from the app.

  3. Press Verify. DNS changes can take a few minutes, sometimes up to 48 hours. Once verified, the domain opens your store with HTTPS. If the ownership check passes but the A record or CNAME isn't in place yet, the app says which record is missing; press Re-check after fixing it.

Removing a domain stops it opening your store (and removes its www partner).

For developers

GET /api/v1/storefront/settings and PUT /api/v1/storefront/settings ({ "published": true }) read and change the switch, with the read:settings and write:settings scopes. AI assistants use the get_storefront_settings and set_storefront_published tools.
